Positive Education
The International Positive Education Network (IPEN) is a global movement that promotes human flourishing through positive education. Hear what members have to say about the power of Positive Education.

Balancing academics and emotional well-being for students is challenging
Students aren't the only ones struggling
Teachers are also reporting higher levels of stress and burnout due to a combination of factors. The high demands of the profession, a focus on academic outcomes, and the struggle of finding a work-life balance leaves many educators feeling drained and depleted.
It doesn't have to be this way....
Positive Educators can significantly impact students' academic success and personal development
Schools that certify teachers and staff as positive educators understand the value of creating a positive school culture - one that supports well-being for all stakeholders through practices, policies, and social norms.
To help mitigate many of the challenges schools face, positive educators integrate the principles of positive psychology into teaching and learning.
Positive educators aim to enhance students' well-being, resilience, and academic performance by focusing on their strengths, promoting positive emotions, and fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment.
In this model, everyone thrives!

Real Feedback from Real People

Christy continues to stay in touch with her former students and their parents, maintaining connections well beyond the classroom.
Christy is a ray of sunshine. I am so lucky to have had her teach all four of my children. When my oldest daughter entered middle school, she came home and talked about a teacher that was warm and understanding. Throughout the year, she would tell me, "Mrs. Smith understands how kids think and how they feel because she has her own children." This incredible balance of positivity, compassion, and love along with structure was consistent in her approach over many years with all of my very different children. Christy is remarkable.

Mrs. Smith’s teachings have led me to focus on my well-being and resilience in the face of obstacles, and as a result, I have been happier and more fulfilled.
Mrs. Smith was my kind, upbeat 6th-grade ELA teacher who valued positive psychology and introduced our class to positive thinking. One of the lessons we did in class was to discover our character strengths by drafting an essay that analyzed times we demonstrated these qualities. This writing exercise allowed me to focus on qualities and behaviors that led to successful outcomes and how to build on my strengths going forward. At school and in the Change Agents Club, she created opportunities for students to make a difference by organizing volunteer projects and making signs with positive messages around school. Overall, I am grateful for her help and believe more students will benefit from her positive psychology coaching.
